Land O' Lakes sits on the flat, lake-dotted terrain of central Pasco County, just north of Tampa in west-central Florida. Its tornado history splits along the seasons: summer sea-breeze storms over the peninsula regularly produce brief, weak touchdowns — an EF0 struck on August 8, 2025 — while the tornadoes that have done serious damage here have typically come with spring and cool-season systems sweeping across the Gulf coast.

Long-track tornadoes have crossed the area in the cooler months as well: an F1 on February 19, 1974 traveled 45.9 miles and injured 55 people, and an F2 on November 1, 1973 ran 27.9 miles and injured 17.
