Dublin sits in the Amador Valley of Alameda County, on the eastern edge of the San Francisco Bay Area, where tornadoes tend to arrive with cool-season Pacific storm systems rather than summer heat. An F2 tornado struck on January 11, 1951, tracking 5.7 miles and causing $2,750,000 in property damage. Winter touchdowns returned in later decades, with an F1 on January 14, 1980, and an EF1 on January 23, 2010.
Spring and fall have produced events of their own: an F1 on April 1, 1958, F0 tornadoes on March 29, 1982, and April 25, 1994, back-to-back F0s on September 18 and 19, 1989, and an F0 on December 17, 1992.
The year 1998 brought a cluster of activity to the area.
