About Tornadoes in Siloam Springs

This overview was written July 28, 2026. The tornado counts and notable-event figures elsewhere on this page reflect the latest data and may differ from this summary.

Siloam Springs sits in western Benton County, Arkansas, hard against the Oklahoma state line, where storm systems sweeping off the southern Plains climb into the wooded hills of the Ozark Plateau. On March 25, 1954, an F3 tracked 20.6 miles through the area and injured four people, and on June 12, 1970, an F3 followed a 51.8-mile path that killed one person and injured 45.

Not all of the area's tornadoes arrive in spring. On December 31, 2010, a New Year's Eve EF3 carved a 21.1-mile path, killing four people and injuring ten. An EF2 on December 1, 2018 traveled 47 miles and injured five, and on October 21, 2019 an EF2 tracked 31.4 miles through the region.

Spring remains the heart of the local severe-weather season, though. On March 30, 2022, an EF3 injured seven people and caused $20 million in damage along a 5.2-mile path. On May 26, 2024, an EF3 with a damage path 3,200 yards wide injured two people, while an EF2 the same day produced $80 million in damage over a 7.4-mile track. The pattern has continued: an EF2 on May 20, 2025 tracked 13.6 miles, and EF1 tornadoes touched down on June 18, 2025.
