Allison Park is a suburban community north of Pittsburgh, set in the hilly, wooded terrain of the Allegheny Plateau in western Pennsylvania. This ridge-and-hollow country sees fewer tornadoes than the open plains or the Deep South, but the region does experience them during the warm season.
